Beautiful park but the campsites especially dog friendly ones are on hard rocky terrain...why put these huge chunks of gravel down? Hammock camping was fine...if you tent camp bring an air mattress. Also there is a train which comes through not far from the sites which blares it's horn once every hour all night long. The waterfalls were very nice and not so busy you couldn't enjoy them. Quiet time is at 9pm but you can still hang out just be respectful.
Showers had great water pressure, facilities were kept clean. Clerks at the check-in were always very helpful. Absolute great experience with the natural sites nearby. Can't wait for another stay.
Fairly good camping grounds. Although no real showers in proximity to many campgrounds. And public toilets could use a slight upgrade. But roughing it is part of the game.
This place is unbelievable. Took the family and stayed at the camp grounds.
It's a great spot near Ohiopyle, with playgrounds for kids and facilities, including showers. Wood can be bought for $6 per bundle. The issue, the only issue and it's kind of a big one, is the trains. A train runs through Ohiopyle and nearby. They will blow their horns as loud as they can as they pass through, since they pass through a civilian area. And they will do this when you're trying to sleep. The campsite is great, it's just hard to get some zz's unless you bring some industrial strength earplugs.
There is really nothing but add this to your bucket list
You definitely feel safe. They rangers are visible, and polite.
