* The trains - every 30-40 minutes all night long there is about 5 minutes of blaring nearby train horns and rumble so unless you sleep extremely deep *and* use earplugs, you won't be getting much sleep.

Great campground. Had a walk in site, 111. It was so private and beautiful unlike other state parks I have been to. I do recommend walk in sites if you're looking for more privacy. Best state park I have ever been to. Very friendly and helpful staff. Love ohiopyle. One of my favorite places in the world.

Nice place to camp. Good hiking as well.

* The campsites are not graded whatsoever - I have only seen perhaps 2 semi-level sites - you will be sleeping on a slope.

Great campground. Clears out completely on Sundays. Had the entire park to ourselves.

Overall, it's a very convenient location, but with enough problems to ensure you are a sleep deprived zombie by day 2.

Great state park campground, my only issue is there is no water at the sites. VA state parks are nicer and they have water on the sites. Still, great place to ride bikes and some of the best white water rafting on east coast. The town of Ohiopyle has a lot to offer for a small seasonal town. The camping cabins are also better than most I have seen. Plenty of wildlife to see as well.

* The bathrooms have been renovated in the last few years and now throw an absurd amount of light pollution out into the campgrounds - it's like nothing I've ever seen before, the harsh white LED light carries for hundreds of yards and illuminates all of the campsites to the point where you won't need a flashlight even when you aren't near the bathrooms.

* There are a lot of obnoxious campers that put up bright lights and make a ton of noise into the wee hours despite quiet hours rules at the park.

There are some glaring problems with this campground. Some issues are the fault of PA State Parks, some are out of their control. Here's a list of reasons not to stay:
